Arjo | Sara Steady Sit-to-Stand | Safe, Dignified, and Independent Transfers with Non-Powered Mobility Support
The Arjo Sara Steady is a non-powered, sit-to-stand transfer aid designed to promote patient mobility, dignity, and independence.
Available through Alto Med Supply, this innovative mobility device allows a single caregiver to assist individuals with everyday transfers safely and efficiently reducing strain while encouraging patient engagement.
Ideal for hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and long-term care facilities, the Sara Steady is also widely used in home care settings to support early mobilization and active participation during sit-to-stand movements.
Designed to accommodate a broad range of patient needs, the Sara Steady is offered in two sizes.
The standard Sara Steady suits individuals between 149–193 cm (4'11"–6'6") in height, while the Sara Steady Compact is ideal for smaller patients ranging from 138–172 cm (4'6"–5'8").
Both models support users weighing up to 182 kg (400 lb), making them a practical choice for diverse clinical environments.
Functionality is at the core of the Sara Steady’s design.
A pivoting seat opens to allow users to stand with ease and then provides angled support during the transfer process.
The knee pad offers additional support for stability, while the crossbar handle empowers patients to actively assist with their own movement.
For added convenience, the chassis legs can be adjusted using a foot pedal, allowing seamless access around wide chairs or other furniture.
Recognized for its user-focused design, the Arjo Sara Steady has received a DSDC Product Accreditation Rating Class 1B from the Dementia Services Development Centre at the University of Stirling.
This distinction highlights its suitability for dementia care environments, where intuitive and dignified equipment design is essential.
At Alto Med Supply, we offer the Arjo Sara Steady and Sara Steady Compact to support caregivers and enhance quality of life for patients.
Whether for clinical or home use, this trusted transfer aid delivers safe, simple, and effective mobility support without the need for power or complex mechanisms.
